Mr. Heavner was an amazing mentor and human being. I had just moved to La Canada my freshman year and knew little about playing organized sports. Mr. Heavner had a special way of guiding his students - he felt I could contribute on the sports teams and in his special way of telling me, he said, "I never want to see you in a regular PE class again."

Thanks to Mr. Heavner's influence, I was able to letter in four different sports. He made my four years at LCHS some of the most enjoyable years of my life. I will always be grateful to this man who believed in my potential. I had very gifted teachers and coaches - Mr Heavner was one of the very best.

Heavier hated me. I had bad knees and could not run. Still Do! To small to play football. Just to small. He tried. RIP BUD.
