I was so sorry to hear about Coach Boal yesterday. He was a great guy, and although I didn't know him well, he will be greatly missed by all of us. I am always thankful that our class is so close after all these years. Its always great to stay in touch.
Randy Boal was my Gladiator Jr. Midget Coach, and I continued with him for my final two years (9th/10th) of football. I was happy and surprised to see him at a few of our reunions, realizing how much our class meant to him and vice versa, since he started with us at LCHS in 1972 and remained a Spartan through retirement. Football memories are very different for me now that both Coach Boal and our wonderful QB and still school record holding long jumper Dave Tierney (also my college roommate/track teammate) have moved onto the greater field.
